# Enhancing security and privacy in Google Workspace by Virtru
Google Workspace is known as one of the most powerful and effective productivity and collaboration tools that has been chosen by enterprises across the globe to become their partner for digital transformation. The most important reasons are that Google Workspace was built in the cloud and designed to support enterprise’s privacy and security standards.
The way of working has been completely changed during the pandemic. Organizations are now switching from only work from office to hybrid working. Google Workspace allows them to communicate and collaborate seamlessly from anywhere and anytime. However, some organizations find it critical to ensure the security of any sensitive data and information sharing internal and external when employees can collaborate easily. Today, we are going to talk about another layer of security to help strengten up data protection for your organization.
**How can Google Workspace keep your data secure?**
Google recently announced Client-side encryption where enterprises can encrypt data in Google Drive, Docs, Sheets, and Slides with support for multiple file types including Office files, PDFs, and more. This means Google is giving customers direct control of encryption keys and the identity service they choose to access those keys which can add new levels for their data protection across Google Workspace.
However, Google Workspace Client-side encryption requires a third-party provider to manage encryption keys powering the privacy. Virtru is the trusted Google partner and the first encryption provider recommended by Google to prevent unauthorized third-party including Google to access your data across Google Workspace.
With deep expertise across Google Workspace, Virtru and GoPomelo can help add another layer of Google Workspace security and users can also protect the information they share via Gmail, Google Drive, Docs, Sheets, and Slides, as well as Google Meet.
