Google announced that G Suite legacy free edition will no longer be available starting May 1, 2022.

Prior 2012, Google offered G Suite Legacy free edition or Google Apps for Work which is the solution for business emails and collaboration tools for organizations across the globe. However, Google announced that G Suite legacy free edition will no longer be available starting May 1, 2022. 

The administrators will receive an email from Google that starting from May 1, 2022,  Google will seamlessly transition G Suite legacy-free accounts to Google Workspace. However, there will be no cost until July 1, 2022.

The Transition Timeline

• January 2022: Google
• May 1, 2022: Google will begin automatically transitioning G Suite legacy-free accounts to Google Workspace with no cost until 1 July 2022.
• July 1, 2022: Legacy G Suite free edition support end date
